Do you want to enjoy close to the history and culture that surrounds the Guadalquivir River? The ship makes daily departures every 30 minutes throughout the year.
Did you know… ? The Guadalquivir river is the fifth river by length of the Iberian Peninsula. It has 657 km from the Sierra de Cazorla to Sanlúcar. The Guadalquivir river is the only river in Spain with significant fluvial traffic. In Roman times it was navigable to Córdoba, although at present it is only to Seville.
The Guadalquivir river was known since pre-Roman times as Baetis or Betis and from the eleventh century it was called by the Arabs "Wadi al-Kabir" ("big river"). Al-Kabir comes from a Hispano-Arabic phenomenon known as the "imàla", which converts Kabir into Kibir. In the XIII century the river is already known as Guadalquebir or Guadalquibir, which in the current spelling is Guadalquivir.
